180. New Analysis of the Greek Text of 1 Peter and Brief Commentary

Under the tab “Exegetical Resources” on this website you will find a new posting. I have added an “Analysis of the Greek Text of 1 Peter and Brief Commentary” to the list. It seeks to explain how the syntax of the Greek text works and also point out various stylistic devices that the writer employs. Attention is paid to discourse features that help the intended  listener or reader of the Greek text to decode the writer’s message.

This is intended for your personal use and not for publication. You will need an elementary acquaintance with Greek grammar to benefit fully, but if you have enough knowledge to use an interlinear Greek-English (or other language) text, then you should be able to navigate the comments.

If it has been several years since you have looked at a portion of the Greek New Testament, this commentary might be a means for you to begin again to enhance your competence in using the Greek New Testament.

From time to time I host an online workshop that works through a specific portion of the Greek New Testament. If you are interested in participating, please let me know.
